Description: This is yet another "cant create a Minecraft server" post ... Hoping someone will be capable of helping. The short version is that the server functions on my computer, but not on his. Minecraft Server List Both of our computers are hardwired directly to the ASUS the RT-AC86U router with an Ethernet cable. His IP address local to the US is 192.168.50.166. These are the settings for port forwarding: Service Name: Minecraft Source IP: (blank) Port Range Local IP: 192.168.50.166 Local Port: 25565 TCP: BOTH He connects to 192.168.50.166 when he is running Minecraft from his own computer. However when he enters an external IP (obtained via the "Network Map" page of the router's settings), it yields the following error message: Failed to connect to the server io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information I'm getting the same error from Minecraft when I try to connect to 192.168.50.166 from my own computer. Here's the real kicker: Everything works when I run the server on my personal computer (192.168.50.48), and change the Local IP port forward settings according to my needs. I can connect to the Minecraft server with either my local IP or the external IP.
