Description: If you've been looking to play Minecraft with your gamers on the Apple TV It's time to get excited. "Realms" the Minecraft subscription-based multiplayer has been added to the Apple TV version. The updated version also includes Xbox Live authentication support that allows players to access their avatars, character skins and other details. Realms accounts are similar to purchasing a Minecraft server. However the account is managed by Microsoft which means that you don't have to worry about IP addresses or hosting. You have full control over who is allowed to access your private Minecraft Realm. This way you don't need to worry about someone destroying your world while you fight explosions of Creepers or creating amazing recreations of King's Landing from Game of Thrones. You can purchase either a 10- or two-player Realm of your own for $3.99 and $7.99 for each. Unfortunately, owners of existing Realms subscriptions on Mac, Linux or PC will not be able to play alongside their iOS or Apple TV brethren; there are two separate Realms systems that are designed for PCs, and one that supports iOS, Android and Windows 10 users. We've been in touch to find out whether there is a plan to connect the two systems. The procedurally-generated worlds of Minecraft deserve to be explored with others; now Apple TV and iOS fans have a chance to do just that... as long as they stick to their own platform. Let it sing
